7 reasons why DJI Matrice 300 (with Zenmuse H20T) is the best inspection drone to use for Periodic Facade Inspection

1. Versatile camera gimbal movement to catch the building facade from different angles

   In instances where you are checking cladding alignment or connection details that are hidden behind the façade, having to take pictures from different angles really helps the quality of the visual inspection. (The Zenmuse H20T camera has a pitch range (up-down) of -120° to +30° and a Yaw range (left-right) of ±320°)

2. Infrared Thermal function

   Being able to see any difference in heat signatures during a facade inspection helps identify façade defects such as water penetration, sealant failures & delamination which are usually invisible to the naked eye.

   To put it simply, with the 6 directional obstacle sensing features, I could not even crash the drone into an obstacle even if I wanted to. The sensors would restrict my drone’s movement. Another safety feature to note is the 3 propeller emergency landing. If one propeller goes down, the drone will auto balance and we are still able to safely guide it to crash land in an open area.

6. Create folder function

   During a façade inspection, we have to usually deal with hundreds, if not thousands of pictures. Having all pictures categorized into specific folders really helps save a ton of time.

7. Dual smart operator mode

   It is hard to perform a detailed visual inspection during a façade inspection if you have to constantly think about drone flight operation safety. We are even taught during drone training to never lose visual line of sight of the drone. So the question is how do you inspect a building visually if you have to maintain visuals on your drone? DJI answer is the dual smart operator mode where 2 remote controller are used to fly one drone. 1 pilot is able to concentrate on the drone operation while the other performs the visual inspection. This helps improve the quality of inspection and safety of the drone operation.
